Site Supervisor - Structural Works Kalky Infracon Pvt. Ltd. | Satyabhamapur, Bhubaneswar
We are building one of Bhubaneswar's most anticipated residential developments and we need ground-level execution leadership that matches that ambition. A Site Supervisor at Kalky is not someone who watches work happen. He is someone who makes work happen - correctly, safely, and on time, every single day.
Job Details
Position: Site Supervisor - Structural Works Location: Kalky Ananta Site, Rang Bazar, Bhubaneswar Experience: 3 to 5 years Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering Reporting To: Site Engineer Availability: Must be available to stay at site as per project requirement
The Role
You will be the eyes and hands of the Site Engineer on the ground. Every structural activity that happens on this site - from excavation and piling to RCC framing and slab completion - happens under your direct supervision. You will manage labour, coordinate with contractors, enforce quality checks, and ensure safety standards are followed without compromise. When the Site Engineer gives a target, you are the person who delivers it.
This role demands someone who is physically present, constantly observant, and technically sharp enough to catch a wrong bar diameter or an under-supported shutter before it becomes a problem that costs the project time and money.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Structural Execution Supervision
Supervise all structural activities from start to completion with full technical understanding of what correct execution looks like. This includes setting out and alignment checks before any activity begins, earthwork, excavation, and dewatering supervision, piling operations - monitoring rig movement, bore depth, flushing, reinforcement cage lowering, and concrete pouring into bore, pile cap and footing construction including reinforcement placement, cover blocks, and shuttering, column, beam, and slab reinforcement fixing with bar bending schedule verification against approved structural drawings, shuttering erection and striking - checking prop spacing, plumb, and load bearing capacity before any pour, concrete pouring sequence, compaction using needle vibrators, and surface finishing, post-pour curing discipline - water curing schedules maintained without fail, and blockwork and brickwork supervision with plumb, level, and bond checks at every course.
No structural activity proceeds without your physical inspection and confirmation to the Site Engineer that conditions are ready. That discipline is non-negotiable.
Quality Control on Ground
Quality on a construction site is either built in during execution or fixed at enormous cost later. Your job is to build it in. Before every pour, verify cover blocks are placed at correct spacing, reinforcement laps and splices are as per drawing, stirrup spacing matches the BBS, and shuttering joints are sealed. During every pour, ensure concrete is being placed without segregation, vibration is done correctly at the right spacing and depth, and there is no addition of water to concrete at site without authorisation. After every pour, ensure curing starts within the required time and continues for the full specified duration. Maintain a physical inspection checklist for every major activity and hand it to the Site Engineer at the end of each day.
Labour and Contractor Management
Manage daily labour deployment across all active structural activities. Every morning, before work begins, brief your team - what is the target for the day, who does what, what materials are ready, and what safety requirements apply to today's work. Track attendance and productivity through the day. If a contractor's gang is underperforming, identify the reason and resolve it - manpower shortage, material issue, or poor supervision - and report to the Site Engineer with your assessment and action taken. Do not allow idle labour on site. Do not allow labour to work on activities they have not been assigned without Site Engineer approval.
Safety - Zero Compromise
A construction site is inherently dangerous. Your presence and vigilance are what stand between a safe site and an accident. Ensure every worker wears helmet, safety shoes, and high visibility vest as a minimum at all times. For work at height above 2 metres, full body harness is mandatory - check it is worn and anchored before work begins. Inspect scaffolding and working platforms every morning before allowing work to start at height. Check all shuttering props and supports before every concrete pour. Maintain a safe access route to all working levels at all times. If you see an unsafe condition or an unsafe act, stop the work. Do not resume until the condition is corrected. Report every near miss and every incident to the Site Engineer the same day with a clear account of what happened and what was done about it.
Material Coordination and Control
Work closely with the Store Keeper to plan daily material requirements. Give the Store Keeper a written material requirement the evening before so morning work is not delayed waiting for materials. Check every material delivered to your work area - correct grade of steel, correct mix design for concrete, correct type of cement, correct shuttering material condition. Do not use substandard material because it is convenient. Minimise wastage - monitor steel cutting, concrete spillage, and shuttering damage and report excessive wastage to the Site Engineer.
Reporting and Communication
Give the Site Engineer a clear end of day report every evening covering exactly what was completed against the day's target, what could not be completed and why, what the plan is for tomorrow, what material or manpower issues need to be resolved, and any quality or safety observations from the day. Maintain a daily work diary with labour headcount by trade, activity wise progress, and any deviations from plan. This diary is your professional record and it will be reviewed.
What We Are Looking For
Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised polytechnic or institution. 3 to 5 years of hands on experience as a Site Supervisor on real estate or building construction projects - candidates from infrastructure or road projects will not be considered for this role. Must have direct experience supervising RCC structural activities - reinforcement fixing, shuttering, and concrete pouring - not just general site assistance. Must be able to read a basic structural drawing and bar bending schedule and identify errors in field placement against the drawing. Must be able to manage a mixed labour team including skilled, semi skilled, and unskilled workers effectively. Must be available to stay at site during critical activities including night pours, large slab pours, and foundation work when required. Strong communication in Odia and Hindi is essential for effective labour management on site.
Who Should Apply
You have spent enough time on site to know that most structural failures begin with small compromises - a missing cover block, an unstirrupped zone, a shutter that was struck too early. You do not allow those compromises because you understand what they lead to. You are the kind of supervisor whose workers know that shortcuts will be caught and corrected. You take pride in a clean, organised, disciplined site where every activity is happening as per plan and every worker knows exactly what he is supposed to be doing. You want to grow - into a senior supervisor role and eventually into a site engineer position - and you understand that the only way to get there is to build a track record of zero defect, zero accident, on time delivery on every project you touch.
What We Offer
Salary between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000 per month commensurate with experience and demonstrated capability. Accommodation support at or near site during critical project phases. A structured work environment with clear responsibilities, direct mentorship from the Site Engineer and Project Manager, and a genuine opportunity to grow within the organisation as the project pipeline expands. You will not be a number here. Your work will be seen, assessed, and rewarded.
