TestOwl is a B2B SaaS test automation platform that helps software teams automate regression testing without writing or maintaining automation scripts.
We are building TestOwl for modern software teams that want to spend less time maintaining automated tests and more time shipping software.
We are at an early stage, which means we don’t have a finished sales playbook, a large inbound pipeline, or a long list of qualified leads waiting for you.
You’ll help build it.
About the Role
We’re hiring our first Sales & Growth hire.
You’ll work directly with the founder and take ownership of a large part of TestOwl’s customer acquisition journey — from identifying companies and finding the right people to starting conversations, conducting discovery, following up, helping prospects evaluate the product, and closing opportunities.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hunting for opportunities rather than waiting for leads.
Your day could include researching SaaS companies, identifying QA and engineering leaders, sending personalized LinkedIn messages, making cold calls, following up with prospects, joining a product demo, speaking with a potential customer about their test automation challenges, updating the pipeline, and discussing what you learned with the founder.
You won’t just execute an existing sales process.
You’ll help create it.
What You’ll Do
Build the Pipeline
- Identify companies that could benefit from TestOwl.
- Research companies, their engineering teams, technology stack, and testing practices.
- Find relevant decision-makers such as QA Managers, Heads of QA, Engineering Managers, Directors of Engineering and CTOs.
- Build and continuously improve a qualified prospect database.
- Identify signals such as Playwright/Selenium/Cypress usage, growing engineering teams, QA hiring, frequent releases, and test automation challenges.
Outbound Sales
- Reach prospects through cold email, LinkedIn, cold calling and other relevant channels.
- Write personalized outreach based on the prospect and their potential problems.
- Start conversations with QA and engineering leaders.
- Follow up consistently across multiple touchpoints.
- Experiment with different messaging, channels and approaches to improve response rates.
Understand & Qualify Prospects
- Understand how companies currently approach test automation.
- Identify their testing frameworks, team structure and regression testing process.
- Understand the problems they face with test creation, maintenance and execution.
- Determine whether TestOwl is a good fit.
- Identify the people involved in the buying decision and understand their requirements.
Demos & Closing
- Conduct product demonstrations as you become familiar with TestOwl.
- Work closely with the founder on technical/product demos during the initial stage.
- Follow up with prospects after demos and trials.
- Help prospects move from initial interest to product evaluation and purchase.
- Own opportunities through the sales cycle rather than simply handing over leads.
Build the Sales Process
- Track outreach, conversations, meetings, trials and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline information.
- Experiment with different ICPs, messaging, channels and sales approaches.
- Identify what works and what doesn’t.
- Help turn successful approaches into a repeatable sales process.
Bring Customer Feedback Back to the Team
- Learn from every conversation, including lost opportunities.
- Identify recurring objections, customer requirements and competitive alternatives.
- Share customer insights directly with the founder and product team.
- Help influence TestOwl’s positioning and product roadmap based on real market feedback.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for sales ability, ownership and a willingness to learn more than a particular degree.
You may be a strong fit if you have:
- 3–7 years of experience in sales, business development, SaaS sales or B2B sales.
- Strong experience with outbound prospecting and cold outreach.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Confidence speaking with managers, engineering leaders and business decision-makers.
- Comfort with cold calling, rejection and repeated follow-ups.
- Strong research and prospecting skills.
- A bias toward action.
- Ability to work independently without needing a predefined daily task list.
- Strong ownership and accountability for results.
- Interest in technology and software products.
You’ll Stand Out If You Have
- Experience selling B2B SaaS or developer tools.
- Experience selling QA, testing, DevOps or engineering software.
- Understanding of software development or software testing.
- Experience selling to SaaS companies or engineering teams.
- Experience building an outbound pipeline from scratch.
- Experience working at an early-stage startup.
- A track record of consistently achieving sales targets.
What This Role Is NOT
This is not a traditional lead-management BDE role.
You won’t be handed a large list of qualified leads and asked to work through them.
You won’t have a predefined script for every conversation.
You won’t have an established sales playbook telling you exactly what to do every day.
You’ll be expected to:

We are looking for someone who can create opportunities, not just process them.
What Success Looks Like
In the beginning, success isn’t simply about sending hundreds of messages.
It’s about learning how to consistently turn the right prospects into qualified conversations and customers.
You’ll be responsible for improving metrics across the funnel:
Prospects → Conversations → Qualified Opportunities → Demos → Trials → Customers
Over time, you’ll help us answer important questions:
- Which companies are the best fit for TestOwl?
- Who is the right buyer?
- Which problems create the strongest buying intent?
- Which outreach channels work best?
- What messaging gets responses?
- What objections do prospects have?
- What makes prospects start a trial?
- What makes them become paying customers?

Compensation
Fixed salary + performance-based incentives/commission.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
