Job Summary
Orkid Bakes and Foods Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced, analytical, and commercially oriented Senior Finance Manager to lead the company's finance and accounting function and provide strategic financial insights to management.
The role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting, cash-flow management, working capital, costing, budgeting, MIS, statutory compliance, banking relationships, financial controls, and commercial finance.
The ideal candidate should have strong financial management and analytical capabilities, with relevant experience in either FMCG/food/manufacturing finance or the banking and financial services industry. Candidates from both backgrounds will be considered, provided they demonstrate strong commercial understanding and financial management capabilities.
The Senior Finance Manager will work closely with the Directors and senior management and will be expected to contribute to business decisions relating to profitability, pricing, working capital, expansion, investments, distributor economics, and overall financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities1. Finance & Accounting
- Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Supervise preparation of monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow statements, and other financial reports.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closing.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, bank reconciliations, and general ledger.
- Supervise and guide the finance and accounts team.
- Establish and maintain strong accounting and financial processes.
2. Management Information System (MIS)
- Prepare and present monthly financial MIS to the management.
- Develop dashboards covering sales, revenue, gross margin, expenses, EBITDA, working capital, receivables, inventory, and cash flow.
- Compare actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and previous periods.
- Identify significant variances and provide clear explanations and corrective recommendations.
- Provide management with actionable financial insights rather than only historical accounting information.
3. Product Costing & Profitability
- Develop and maintain accurate SKU-wise product costing.
- Analyse raw material, packaging, labour, manufacturing overheads, logistics, and other costs.
- Monitor changes in raw material and packaging costs and assess their impact on profitability.
- Calculate contribution margins and profitability for individual products.
- Analyse profitability of the Yumms product portfolio.
- Analyse profitability of private-label and contract manufacturing business.
- Evaluate the financial impact of distributor margins, super stockist margins, retailer margins, schemes, TODs, incentives, freight, and marketing expenses.
- Support management in pricing and commercial decisions.
4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Prepare and monitor weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts.
- Manage the company's working capital requirements.
- Monitor distributor and customer receivables and ensure timely collections.
- Establish and monitor appropriate customer and distributor credit limits.
- Track supplier payments and payment schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and inventory value.
- Identify opportunities to improve working capital efficiency.
- Ensure sufficient liquidity for procurement, production, salaries, statutory payments, and other business requirements.
5. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Prepare annual operating budgets and financial plans.
- Develop monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets.
- Support management in setting revenue, margin, expense, and profitability targets.
- Prepare financial projections for expansion into new markets and territories.
- Evaluate the financial feasibility of new products, production lines, machinery, and other capital investments.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis for major business decisions.
6. Commercial Finance
- Analyse the financial implications of new distributor and super stockist appointments.
- Review commercial proposals, discounts, schemes, incentives, and credit terms.
- Evaluate customer and distributor profitability.
- Monitor the financial impact of promotional activities and marketing expenditure.
- Support the sales team with pricing, margin, collection, and commercial analysis.
- Evaluate the profitability of different sales channels and territories.
- Ensure commercial decisions are aligned with the company's profitability objectives.
7. Banking & Treasury
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Coordinate the company's banking requirements and day-to-day banking operations.
- Manage working capital facilities, overdrafts, cash-credit facilities, term loans, and other financing arrangements.
- Monitor interest costs and financing requirements.
- Prepare financial information and documentation required by banks and financial institutions.
- Coordinate with banks regarding loan documentation, renewals, limits, securities, and other requirements.
- Monitor fund utilisation and ensure efficient deployment of available funds.
- Evaluate financing options and advise management on suitable banking and funding solutions.
8. Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other external financial professionals.
- Ensure proper maintenance of statutory records and financial documentation.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Monitor changes in applicable financial and tax regulations and ensure appropriate implementation.
9. Internal Financial Controls
- Establish and strengthen financial controls across the organization.
- Monitor controls over purchasing, sales, inventory, payments, collections, and expenses.
- Identify financial leakages, process inefficiencies, and potential financial risks.
- Ensure appropriate authorization procedures for purchases, expenses, discounts, credit notes, and payments.
- Regularly review inventory and financial records for accuracy.
- Develop processes that improve financial discipline and accountability across departments.
10. Business Analysis & Management Support
- Provide financial analysis to the Directors and senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate the financial impact of entering new markets, appointing distributors, launching products, or changing pricing.
- Conduct financial feasibility studies for new projects and investments.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement.
- Analyse business performance by product, customer, distributor, territory, and channel.
- Support management in improving overall profitability and financial efficiency.

The Senior Finance Manager will be evaluated on:

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance or equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, financial management, banking, or related fields.
- Candidates with substantial experience in banking/financial services or FMCG/food/manufacturing finance are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, costing, and financial analysis.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software.
- Strong understanding of GST, TDS, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and interact directly with senior management.
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to translate financial data into business decisions.

- What happens to profitability if raw-material prices increase by 5%?
- How much additional working capital will be required if sales increase significantly?
- Is a new product, distributor, territory, or machinery investment financially viable?
- What is the most efficient way to finance the company's working capital requirements?
